Our Journey: From The SHARE Group to Stop the Traffic Indiana
For over a decade, our organization has been at the forefront of the fight against human trafficking in Indiana. Originally known as The SHARE Group (Sharing Hope Around the Region thru Education), we have rebranded to Stop the Traffic Indiana to better reflect our mission and broaden our impact across the state.
Our journey began with a deep concern for the rising cases of human trafficking in our communities. We recognized the need for a dedicated effort to raise awareness, provide education, and support victims. Through grassroots initiatives, partnerships with local law enforcement, and collaboration with national organizations, we have been able to make significant strides in combating this issue.
Our Mission
Our mission is to end human trafficking in Indiana by:
- Raising awareness through community outreach and education programs.
- Providing resources and support for survivors.
- Advocating for stronger laws and policies to prevent trafficking.
- Collaborating with local, state, and national organizations to strengthen our efforts.
Key Initiatives
We have implemented several initiatives to further our mission:
- Educational Workshops: Offering training sessions for professionals and community members to recognize and respond to signs of trafficking.
- Survivor Support Programs: Providing counseling, legal assistance, and housing resources for survivors.
- Advocacy Campaigns: Engaging in legislative efforts to strengthen laws against trafficking and support victims.
- Community Partnerships: Collaborating with local organizations, law enforcement, and schools to create a unified response to trafficking.
Looking Ahead
As we continue our work, we remain committed to our mission and vision. We believe that through education, collaboration, and unwavering dedication, we can create a community where human trafficking is no longer a hidden crime but a recognized and addressed issue. Together, we can make a difference.
